Conveyors in Pietermaritzburg

Pietermaritzburg, the capital of KwaZulu-Natal, lies in a bowl in the Midlands about 80 kilometres inland of Durban. Industry includes timber and forestry products, paper and packaging, food and beverage processing, dairy and engineering, with the large Willowton and Mkondeni industrial areas hosting many of them. Wood chip, sawn timber, logs, sugar, milled products and packaged goods move on belts and roller lines. The climate is warm and humid in summer with strong storms, and cooler in winter. The city has an established engineering base, with belting suppliers, splicing contractors and workshops that serve forestry, sugar and farming customers across the Midlands and the N3 corridor.

Typical belt cleaners and scrapers requests in the area come from:

Grain silos, sugar mills and packhouses: scrapers and skirting that control dust and sticky residue on grain, sugar and fertiliser lines
Food and beverage factories: brush and food-safe cleaners on processing belts that need frequent wash-down
Cement, steel and process plants: cleaners and magnets on cement, steel and recycling plant belts
Warehouses and distribution centres: light cleaners and guards on parcel and baggage belts to keep debris away from rollers
Quarries and sand mines: robust blades and overband magnets under crushers and on aggregate stockpile belts
